Tēnā koutou katoa,
It is with great honour to announce that the beautiful Whaea Linda Munn has given her blessing for KRS to create a Glow in the dark version of Te Kara Māori - known as the Tino Rangatiratanga haki.
(The white koru will glow at night)
We want to pay homage to the late Whaea Hiraina Marsden,
Whaea Jan Smith and Whaea Linda Munn for creating this symbolic tohu to wear with absolute pride!

Every single purchase made KRS Apparel will donate a small koha to the Tauranga Womans Refuge as a give back. Whaea Linda did not want any koha at all but to koha back to a special charity. Each half-zip crews is screen printed with 4 x screens and a 4 x colour print on the half zips.
Brief explanation of Te Kara Māori:
Ko te māmangu, koia te Korekore, te aronga torohū
Black represents Te Korekore - the realm of potential Being.
Ko te mā, koia te Ao Marama, he ōkiko, he pokekore, whakamaiangi ana.
White represents Te Ao Marama, - the ream of Being and Light
Ko te Koru, me he rau kōmiro, tōna tikanga kei te wana kauhora, ka pihi hei rea manako.
The Koru, curling frond shape, represents the unfolding of new life, that everything is reborn and continues. It promises renewal and hope for the future.
Ko te whero, koia te Whei Ao, te aronga ki te puao.
Rerepresents Te Wehi Ao - the realm of coming into Being.
